The practice of the General Offering of the Four Continents is as follows: First, complete all preliminary preparations, starting from refuge and bodhicitta, up to the assembly in accordance with the yidam (deity) ritual, then proceed with the recitation arrangement for the Four Continents. Starting from 'I am the Great Supreme Heruka,' etc., up to 'Act as the witness of the offering of existence.' After the equalization of existence, recite: 'Kye! Offering of the naturally pure illusion,' etc., up to 'Satisfy each of the senses.' Bless with the six mantras and six mudras, then starting from the Four Continents, generate splendor: 'Hum! I am the great blood-drinker,' etc., up to 'The owner of the ransom, enjoy the ransom.' After equalization, recite: 'Kye! Existence depends on the wind,' etc., up to 'Abide in the meaning of the signless.' Starting from the Four Continents, recite: 'Kye! Relying on this ritual,' etc., up to 'The virtues of this are beyond words.' After equalization, recite: 'The power of the natural offering,' etc., up to 'Obstacles will not find a chance.' Follow the ritual for severance and upholding protectors, etc. Severing external obstacles: 'Kye! This place has been blessed by the mantra practitioner,' etc., up to 'Therefore, cut off the assembly of obstacles.' From overcoming evil spirits to praising the gods: 'Kye! By the great truth of the mantra,' etc., up to 'Now overcome obstacles and demons.' Inviting Life Force: 'Kye! Now, by the power of overcoming demons,' etc., up to 'May the patron's glory and life force be invited.' Recite auspicious aspirations and prayers as in the yidam ritual. The arrangement of the two offerings should be according to the brief instructions at the beginning of the Four Continents ritual. Furthermore, body effigy, curse thread, death thread, prosperity enhancers, black and white yak, elephant, camel with load, rakshasa food, offering container, cremation ground banner, black root, black poplar wood, skull slab, tiger's yoke, and other necessary items should be gathered completely as stated in the offering ritual. In addition, the recitations and arrangements here should be consulted with the lama and carried out thoroughly.
