To the Sugatas, Buddhas, and Bodhisattvas of all directions and times, I and all beings equal to space, from this moment until enlightenment is attained, with reverence in body, speech, and mind, I always take refuge. Generating the Mind of Enlightenment: Ho! From this moment until samsara is emptied, may I wield the power of the Buddhas' activities, and establish all limitless beings on the ground of nirvana. I generate the sacred mind of enlightenment. Vajrasattva Meditation and Recitation: Oneself as ordinary, above the crown of the head, on a lotus and moon seat, a white Hūṃ radiating and gathering, transforming into a white, clear, and radiant Vajrasattva, holding a vajra and bell, adorned with the ornaments of the Sambhogakaya, embracing a consort identical to oneself, possessing the splendor of marks and signs, seated in the lotus posture. 【English Translation】 Supplication: Lord Avalokiteśvara, the lineage holder of Amitābha. Treasure of compassion, noble Lord of the World. Secret treasure holder, Padmasambhava. I pray to you, grant the accomplishment of maturation and liberation. Mother of all Buddhas of the three times, Kharchen Queen. Master of two languages, powerful Vairocana. Mañjuvajra, King Trisong Detsen. I pray to you, grant the accomplishment of maturation and liberation. Opener of the door to profound treasures, embodiment of the hundred families. Successor of Padmasambhava, tamer of beings, treasure lord Ling. Holders of the command, supreme vidyādharas. I pray to you, grant the accomplishment of maturation and liberation. Essence of the Three Refuges, feet of the root and lineage lamas. Great bliss unchanging, peaceful and wrathful deities. Appearance and emptiness, illusory ḍākinīs and dharma protectors. I pray to you, grant the accomplishment of maturation and liberation. Self-nature of the four kāyas, venerable Vajradhara. Abiding firmly in the mandala of the four wheels of great bliss. May you steadily remain and, with the nectar of the four empowerments. Purify the four obscurations and grant the accomplishment of the four kāyas. Whatever appears is pure, the dance of the illusory net. Experiencing the inexpressible great bliss of the four joys. May the state of uncompounded Samantabhadra. Be realized manifestly through your blessings. May all unfavorable obstacles to achieving temporary supreme bliss be pacified. May all outer, inner, and secret adverse conditions be calmed. And may favorable conditions arise according to the Dharma, so that the benefit of oneself and others. May be brought to ultimate fulfillment through your blessings. Taking Empowerment Taking Empowerment: Lord Vajradhara, master of the four kāyas. Please consider me and all beings with compassion. With the supreme wisdom of the vase, secret, wisdom, and innate. May you fill my being with wisdom. From the Oṃ (藏文：ཨོཾ，梵文天城體：ओ，梵文羅馬擬音：oṃ，漢語字面意思：嗡) at the guru's crown, white light radiates. It dissolves into one's own crown, receiving the vase empowerment. Purifying the defilements of the body, one has the authority to practice the generation stage, and is destined to attain the Nirmāṇakāya. From the Āḥ (藏文：ཨཱཿ，梵文天城體：आ，梵文羅馬擬音：āḥ，漢語字面意思：啊) at the throat, red light radiates. It dissolves into one's own throat, receiving the secret empowerment. Purifying the defilements of speech, one has the authority to practice the channels and winds, and is destined to attain the Sambhogakāya. From the Hūṃ (藏文：ཧཱུྃ，梵文天城體：हु，梵文羅馬擬音：hūṃ，漢語字面意思：吽) at the heart, blue light radiates. It dissolves into one's own heart, receiving the wisdom empowerment. Purifying the defilements of mind, one has the authority to practice bindus, and is destined to attain the Dharmakāya. Again, from the three places, white, red, and blue lights radiate. They dissolve into one's own three places.

【English Translation】 Having obtained the fourth empowerment (ས་དབང་བཞི་པ་ཐོབ།). Purifying the stains of wisdom (ཡེ་ཤེས་ཀྱི་དྲི་མ་སྦྱངས།). Having the authority to meditate on the Great Perfection of the Completion Stage (ལམ་རྫོགས་པ་ཆེན་པོ་བསྒོམ་པ་ལ་དབང་།). Being made fortunate to obtain the Fruition Dharmakaya (འབྲས་བུ་ངོ་བོ་ཉིད་སྐུ་ཐོབ་པའི་སྐལ་པ་ཅན་དུ་བྱས་སོ།). Thus, receive the four empowerments (ཞེས་དབང་བཞི་བླང་ངོ་།). This is called 'The Preliminary Practice for the Two Stages of the Profound Dharma, the Essence of the Vidyadhara's Heart, a Rain of Benefit and Bliss' (ཟབ་ཆོས་རིག་འཛིན་ཐུགས་ཀྱི་ཐིག་ལེའི་རིམ་གཉིས་ལམ་གྱི་སྔོན་འགྲོ་ཕན་བདེའི་ཆར་རྒྱུན་ཞེས་བྱ་བ་འདི་ནི), which is based on the কর্ম (karma) ritual text and the instructions from the treasure text, and the incomplete parts are supplemented and completed by Gyurme Dorje (འགྱུར་མེད་རྡོ་རྗེས་).
