Great Treasure of the Dharma TD157 The Secret Longevity of Ratna: A Lineage Prayer 6-23-1a Homage to the Guru! The secret of body, speech, and mind, the very nature of steadfast vajra, Merely remembering it destroys the armies of the Lord of Death, Victorious One, bestowing longevity and wisdom, I pray to the Protector, Amitabha. Clear away all obstacles, bestow the empowerment and siddhi of longevity. Garab Dorje, abiding in the form of a youthful vase, Shri Singha, the scholar who attained the vajra body, Padmasambhava, who abandoned birth and death, the immortal, I pray to the feet of the Queen, Yeshe Tsogyal. Clear away all obstacles, bestow the empowerment and siddhi of longevity. Vimalamitra, ever abiding in the great transference rainbow body, Humkara, who accomplished the great bliss of Yangdak, Namkha'i Nyingpo, possessor of the uncontaminated rainbow body, I pray to the ocean of vidyadharas, gurus, and disciples. Clear away all obstacles, bestow the empowerment and siddhi of longevity. Ratna Lingpa, the regent of Padma who tames beings, The son of Drakpa Gyaltsen, holder of the vidya of longevity, Ara Ga, whose activity reaches the ends of space, I pray to the assembly who have accomplished the supreme longevity. Padma Nyima, the very embodiment of Amitayus, Tenzin Trinley, the dancer who tames beings, The three supreme ones who bestow the essence of maturation and liberation, and so forth, I pray to the assembly of root and lineage gurus. Victorious One, Amitayus, Protector, Father and Mother, The four goddesses and the four swift mothers who summon longevity, The four gate-guarding mothers and the five goddesses of the families, I pray to the deities of the immortal mandala. Clear away all obstacles, bestow the empowerment and siddhi of longevity. Assembly of yidam deities, heroes, and yoginis, The deities and sages who have accomplished immortality, Guardians of the teachings and treasures, the samaya-bound of the three lineages, and so forth, I pray to the vast ocean of the three roots. Clear away all obstacles, bestow the empowerment and siddhi of longevity. Gurus and bodhisattvas, endowed with compassion, Look upon us disciples with your eyes of wisdom. Since you are the supreme refuges who never deceive, Grant the fruits of our desires right now. I pray that you avert diseases, evil spirits, obstacles, and sudden frights, and so forth, And deaths that occur at the right time and the wrong time. I pray that you completely purify from their root the karmic obscurations Of shortening life, such as taking life and destroying the three supports. I pray that you increase the favorable conditions for long life, Such as merit, power, and the residue of virtuous actions. I pray that you summon back, stabilize, and secure in their own place The life force, longevity, and vital breath that have been depleted, scattered, stolen, and seized. I pray that you bless all the transmigrations of conceptual thought Into unchanging bliss. I pray that you make steadfast the indestructible vajra, the unchanging Yungdrung, And the undiminishing victory banner, making longevity firm. May I live for a hundred years, And see a hundred autumns.

【English Translation】 Grant the siddhi (成就) of pacifying all obstacles. May I attain longevity, power, and awareness in this body. Grant swift accomplishment without hindrance. May the three doors (body, speech, and mind) become the indivisible three vajras (རྡོ་རྗེ།). Grant the siddhi of perfecting the two benefits (benefit for oneself and benefit for others). This prayer was made by Dewa Dorje (བདེ་བའི་རྡོ་རྗེ།) at Palpung (དཔལ་སྤུངས།) Yangwen Kunteling (ཡང་དབེན་ཀུན་བདེ་གླིང་།) on an auspicious day of the waxing moon in the auspicious month. May it be thus accomplished! Ya ta siddhi rastu! May virtue and auspiciousness increase!
