First, the Invocation: Hūṃ! Guhyapati (Lord of Secrets), Hayagriva (Horse-necked One), glorious one, and foremost among the Vidyadharas (Knowledge Holders), Having pledged before Padma Thötreng (Lotus Garlanded Skull, another name for Padmasambhava), Chief of the Arrogant Ones, Lord of all power and strength, Great God Rāhula (a planetary deity), please come forth! Your retinue, the Eight Planets, the Four-Faced Mothers, Stars, gods and demons of existence, hosts of the arrogant, From the four directions and eight intermediate points, from your respective palaces, In an instant, a moment, please come forth! Taking Your Seat: Hūṃ! Upon a lotus throne in the battlefield of enemies and obstructors, Chief of the untamed and arrogant ones, together with your retinue, For the sake of protecting the sacred teachings of the Buddha, Immovable, joyful, and firm, please take your seat! Offering the Feast: Hūṃ! Outer, inner, and secret, a mass of nectar (amrita) and blood (rakta), Great red torma (ritual cake), flesh, blood, and bones of enemies, Feasters, Dharma Protectors, together with your retinue, kha hi (eat!) with your mouths! Entrusting the Activity: Hūṃ! According to the pledge made in the past, To protect the sacred teachings of the Buddha, And to assist the yogis and practitioners, According to your pledge, accomplish the entrusted activity! Praise: Hrīḥ! Formed from the five poisons, Lord of all existence, Fierce Feaster, red of body, possessing a thousand eyes, Holding a makara (sea monster) banner, a bow and arrow of horns, You who utterly destroy the enemies of the teachings, to you I praise! Your retinue, the Eight Planets, the Four-Faced Mothers, Stars, gods and demons of existence, hosts of the arrogant, Controllers of good and bad, followers of the oath, To the assembly of oath-bound servants, I offer praise! Urging into Action: Hūṃ! Rāhula, chief of power and arrogance, Lord of the life of beings, great and wrathful one, Together with your retinue, arise and strike at the life of the enemy! Bhyo! The oath-breaker, the enemy, this evil-doer, Eat his flesh, drink his blood, consume his life-breath! Cut off his lineage, turn his land to ashes, Annihilate him to dust, leaving not even a name! Thus, urge into action.
