Supreme illuminator of the Karma Kagyu teachings, Lord of speech, ocean of vast qualities, Waves of auspicious activity pervade everywhere. I pray to the feet of the glorious and excellent one! Endowed with taming, subjugating, and all-knowing qualities, With study, reflection, and thought on the ten branches of knowledge, The wisdom of meditation is free from attachment and obstruction. I pray to the one who possesses boundless discernment! Sustained by Padmasambhava and Wangchen, among others, Holding the compassionate mantra of Garab Dorje, With the power to tame beings through activity, I pray to the supreme glorious lama! Liberated from the Khung lineage, holder of the accomplished lineage, Awakened to the white dharma of purified karma, The conducive conditions for the two wheels naturally gather. I pray to the one who is wonderfully amazing! Disciplining the mind by abandoning the basis of harming others, Engaging in the places of learning based on benefiting others, The realization of the two stages is clear in every way. I pray to the vajra holder who possesses the three! Relying on many learned and accomplished guides and teachers, Entering the ocean of sutras and tantras with sincere diligence, With the excellent gifts of scriptures, instructions, and pith instructions, Relieving the poverty of the fortunate. By the vajra command of Orgyen, the all-knowing one of the three times, By the wheel-turning ones who reveal treasures, As an emanation of Vairochana, You were prophesied and empowered. 【English Translation】 I pray that you accomplish the deeds of benefiting (others)! Through the power of devotion and the unfailing strength of dependent origination, may I never be separated from the glorious and supreme Lama, and may we gather together in the great city of Khechara (Śūnyatā), may I attain the supreme state of Vajrasattva! May your lineage be as firm as a vajra, and through the constant proclamation of the profound and vast five treasures, may I and others perfect all paths of goodness, and may our aspirations be spontaneously fulfilled, and may auspiciousness and glory blaze forth! Although I am not tainted by even the slightest portion of praiseworthy qualities, and self-praise is the way of the base and foolish, yet due to the earnest urging of the diligent and holy Lama Padma Norbu, I, Yontan Gyatso, the third, have reluctantly written this down. May virtue and auspiciousness increase! A Mirror of Self-Praise—Samaya! Namo Guru Vajra Dharaya (藏文，梵文天城體：नमो गुरु वज्र धाराय，梵文羅馬擬音：Namo Guru Vajra Dharaya，漢語字面意思：Homage to the Vajra Holder Guru)!
